Southern California eight piece folk rock outfit The Mowgli’s will be bringing their sun-kissed sound to the Slim’s stage in SF this weekend. Started by a close knit group of friends in a San Fernando Valley garage, the band preaches the message of unity and togetherness through the bond of artistic collaboration. Drawing influences from indie pop, country, classic rock and all genres in between, the Mowgli’s harness California coast vibes to deliver their musical message in a most uplifting way.
Compared to the group dynamics of modern ensembles such as Arcade Fire and Broken Social Scene and finding similarities in positively charged melodies of Cults and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, the Mowgli’s set out to win over their audiences by “making love with music” (and a fair amount of handclaps).
