Southern California neo-psychadelic rock band The Growlers will be rambling through the Independent this weekend with support from The Abigails and Mystic Braves. Known for their outlandish stage show, theatric costumes and trademarked “beach goth” style, the Growlers have set a unique artistic standard throughout their past seven years as a band. Combining the heavy use of voice effects and reverb with the staple sound of 1960’s California surf rock, the Growlers touch upon a nostalgic era in rock and roll history while expanding the genre for modern day audiences.
Celebrating the release of Gilded Pleasures, their brand new EP and follow up to their 2013 full length Hung at Heart, the band will play a two night stint this weekend at San Francisco venue The Independent.
