Jimmy Cliff //
The Fillmore – San Francisco
July 19th, 2014 (Saturday) //

The multi-talented reggae legend, political activist, singer-songwriter, actor and OM recipient, Jimmy Cliff will be gracing The Fillmore’s stage this Saturday night. A Grammy winner and 2010 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Cliff’s impact on music and pop culture spans influentially throughout the globe. Penning his first hit at the age of 14, Cliff’s career sprouted into a legacy that has indefinitely shaped the modern state of music, art and pop culture — even to this day. With an ever-growing body of work consisting of over 30 full-length albums and equal the amount of compilations, live albums and limitless singles and remixes, Cliff’s work has directly influenced top names within the industry for 50-plus years. Collaborations throughout his tenure as an archetypal figure in reggae music include his work with Alex Spyropolous, Patrick Cambell-Lyons, The Rolling Stones, Elvis Costello, Joe Strummer, Annie Lennox, Sting and most recently Tim Armstrong on the 2011 Grammy-nominated Rebirth. Kicking off his summer tour with a live-streamed NPR Music session on LA radio station KCRW, Cliff brings his incredible live show to the Bay Area for one night only this Saturday at The Fillmore. -Molly Kish
