With a 20-year legacy under his belt that includes over 30 EPs, an iconic touring stage show and 40-plus remixes of artists such as Kraftwerk, Morcheeba, Air, Moby and more, it would be only fair to say that Etienne De Crécy is a highly-influential player in the international EDM game. Most notably recognized for his Super Discount project that launched in 1997 and then was revived as Super Discount 2 in 2004, De Crécy helped coin the genre of electro-techno, bringing it to major rock and electronic festivals throughout Europe, Australia and Brazil. Aesthetically, De Crécy was also an innovator in paving the way of the future with one of the most archetypal touring set designs of the mid-2000’s for the Beats’n’Cubes series. San Diego native, obsessed music lover, discophile, Dj, promoter and producer are several ways that you can describe William Bensussen aka The Gaslamp Killer, yet nothing truly speaks for the type of person/performer he is until you have seen his live show. A true character, the man exudes an unparallelled energy and commitment to his trade that even the most passionate of artists lack. Self-characterized as instrumental psychedelic, Bensussen’s unique brand has led him to work with artists such as Prefuse 73 and Flying Lotus while developing a catalog of experimental, solo material that included a “Best New Track” award from Pitchfork Media in 2012. For your chance to check out this caliber of a performance in such an intimate venue is an opportunity worth applying for, and you’ll be sure to thank us post-show when you’re gathering what’s left of your blown mind/melted face.
