People Under The Stairs are an LA based hip-hop duo that have been around since 1997. Not only have Double K (Michael Turner) and Thes One (Christopher Portugal) performed around the world and at festivals such as Glastonbury, Governors Ball, and Bonaroo, they are fully independent. People Under The Stairs, or “PUTS” as some people like to call them, have self-released nine full length albums. Fresh off of the release of their most recent album, 12 Step Program, People Under The Stairs will be performing in Oakland this Friday at The New Parish, alongside Solganix and Melina Jones. This Friday night is sure to be a night full of amazing hip-hop and soul performances. So get out there and shake what ya momma gave ya. -Krystal Beasley
