Every Tuesday, we focus on new music releases by naming our top tracks and supplying the latest videos for select albums.
Ellie Goulding – Halcyon
Top Track: “Anything Can Happen”
Ellie Goulding reveals the same horrible haircut as her boyfriend Skrillex, yet approaches stadium-size stardom with her first album.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – The Heist
Top Track: “Same Love” feat. Mary Lambert
The video for “Same Love” is one of the better audio/video combos of the year.
Tame Impala – Lonerism
Top Tracks: “Elephant”
“Feels Like We Only Go Backwards”
Hands down, one of the best albums of the year. Lonerism is compulsively listenable from beginning to end, the first and the 10th listen all the same.
Freelance Whales – Diluvia
Top Track: “Spitting Image”
There are at least a couple gems with “Spitting Image” and “Locked Out”.
Lord Huron – Lonesome Dreams
Top Track: “Time to Run”
Lord Huron’s debut LP is a strong effort and deserves a listen.
METZ – METZ
Top Track: “Headache”
METZ seems to have a cleaner and slightly more subdued sound live as seen above, compared to their self-titled first album.
