This week we have DJ Snake’s debut on BBC’s Essential Mix, a beautiful mix from Darkside, and Fatboy Slim’s warm up mix for his Brazil tour.
DJ Snake — Essential Mix (BBC Radio 1 / Jan 2014)
Paris-based DJ Snake debuts on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix as part of their Future Stars showcase, and it definitely lives up to the title. His strong track selection and tight mixing make this one worth a listen. Tracks from Drake, Omar Suleyman, Janet Jackson, Diplo, Daft Punk, Aaliyah show up as well as DJ Snake’s own remix of AlunaGeorge and collaborations with Flosstradamus, Dillon Francis, and Alesia.
Darkside — Modcast #173
Dave Harrington, guitarist and one-half of Darkside, has put together a mix for Australia’s Modular People label. A beautiful collection of tracks show up from David Lynch, Gang Gang Dance, The Knife, Nick Drake, Frankie Rose — a perfect background to our recent rainy weather.
Fatboy Slim — Brasil Warm Up Mix
Our final entry is from Fatboy Slim, who just released this mix as a warm up to his coming tour of Brazil. Energetic mixing and an upbeat tracklist are featured here including The Clash, Chocolate Puma, Robbie Rivera, Talking Heads, Armand Van Helden, John Acquaviva, and Fatboy Slim himself. Enjoy!
