Well, Ohana fam … let’s just say you are in for a real treat this year!

On the same day that Outside Lands unleashed its 2024 lineup, the three-day festival taking place more than six weeks later and founded by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has made its big announcement after The Killers, HAIM, Vedder, The Chicks, Foo Fighters and Pretenders rocked Dana Point last year.

Just days since Vedder went on KROQ and revealed over the airwaves that Pearl Jam would headline two of Ohana’s three nights in September with Neil Young & Crazy Horse slated for the other evening down at Doheny State Beach, the news has now been confirmed.

There’s no question it’s a good time to be a Pearl Jam fan in Southern California with the Hall of Fame band already booked to play two shows at The Forum in Inglewood next month, but after dropping Dark Matter last Friday to mark their 12th studio album, it only feels right that Vedder and company would be back at Ohana this year after headlining in 2021 and hosting an encore edition with two performances the following weekend.

While the return of Pearl Jam should bring in plenty of ticket sales for Ohana, its eighth edition will also feature Garbage, Turnpike Troubadours and Alanis Morissette on the top line, plus other notable names below such as Maren Morris, Black Pumas, IDLES, Crowded House, Jenny Lewis, The Breeders, Ryan Beatty, Glen Hansard, Dogstar, Cat Power and Kim Gordon. See the poster above to find out who else will be performing seaside from Friday to Sunday.

Tickets can be purchased starting this Thursday, April 25th at 10 a.m. PT during the festival’s presale, but you must sign up here to receive a presale code if you want to reserve your spot! Both three-day and single-day GA passes will go for $530 and $196, respectively, with three-day and single-day VIP admission available for $1,589 and $624. And don’t forget about the three-day Ultimate VIP option, a two-person package that includes you and a friend for a measly $10,255. Ready to hit the beach?!?!

Ohana Festival rolls into 2023 with The Killers, HAIM, Eddie Vedder, The Chicks, Foo Fighters & Pretenders lined up for seventh year

It’s that time again, Ohana fam.

The three-day festival founded by Eddie Vedder returns to Doheny State Beach for its seventh edition after making a splash last year with Stevie Nicks, Eddie Vedder, Jack White and P!nk headlining, and unlike previous installments, 2023 will boast a pair of headliners each day for the very first time as the calendar shifts from September to October.

Riding into Day 1 will be The Killers and HAIM, who were booked for the fest’s 2022 “Encore” session until it was canceled, plus a stellar undercard featuring Father John Misty, Japanese Breakfast, Franc Moody, Glen Hansard, Hermanos Gutiérrez and Amos Lee on Friday.

Saturday once again sees Vedder leading the way, but this time he will have some solid help from The Chicks as the country stars make their debut appearance at Ohana Festival. And for those who want to rock out beforehand, you definitely won’t want to miss noteworthy sets by Grammy winners The War on Drugs and jam-band favorites Goose.

Putting a bow on the weekend, meanwhile, will be Foo Fighters and Pretenders at the top of Sunday’s bill following performances by Rainbow Kitten Surprise, The Backseat Lovers, Suki Waterhouse, Thee Sacred Souls and more earlier in the day. See the poster above for the rest of the artists scheduled to take the stage in Dana Point.

Tickets can be purchased starting this Thursday, April 13th at 10 a.m. PT during the festival’s presale, but you must sign up here to receive a presale code if you want to reserve your spot! Both three-day and single-day GA passes will go for $479 and $169, respectively, with three-day and single-day VIP admission available for $1,499 and $549. Of course, there’s also the three-day Ultimate VIP option if you and a friend (it’s a two-person package) have a cool $9,950 in your festival budget to shell out.

Ohana Festival - updated 2023 lineup

UPDATE (May 23rd): Ohana has announced that Rainbow Kitten Surprise will no longer be performing in 2023 and have been replaced on Sunday by Deaf Charlie featuring Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament and former Fitz and the Tantrums drummer John Wicks. Peep the updated poster above for the latest lineup.

Ohana Encore - 2022 lineup

October 8th-9th, 2022 //

Hey, Ohana fam! If you thought that an “Encore” session would only be in 2021, well … think again.

After making its debut last year with none other than Pearl Jam headlining both nights, the second act of Eddie Vedder’s music festival returns this October.

We already knew that the sixth edition of Ohana Festival has Stevie Nicks, Vedder, Jack White and P!nk receiving top billing the weekend prior, but that will be just half of the fun down in Dana Point now.

This time it will be Vedder, Alanis Morissette, The Black Keys and HAIM sharing co-headlining duties over two more days at Doheny State Beach, with an undercard featuring The Roots, Band of Horses, Julieta Venegas and Rainbow Kitten Surprise. Others artists scheduled to perform include The Front Bottoms, The Afghan Whigs, Amos Lee, Amyl and the Sniffers, Marcus King, Iceage, Painted Shield, Hamilton Leithauser and more.

While the fest’s focus remains rock ‘n’ roll as you can see from the poster above, there’s also some hip-hop, soul, indie folk and punk sprinkled in to complement must-see sets by Khruangbin, Billy Strings, St. Vincent, Brittany Howard and Broken Social Scene over the event’s first three days.

Weekend and single-day tickets for Ohana Encore will go on sale this Thursday, June 16th at 10 a.m. PT during the festival’s presale, but you must sign up here to receive a presale code if you want to go!

UPDATE (July 23rd): Ugh! Despite debuting just a year ago, Ohana Encore won’t be back this October after all. The two-day event has been reportedly canceled after ticket holders received an email from the fest’s ticket service Front Gate Tickets stating it would no longer happen “due to circumstances beyond our control” and refunds will be issued automatically. As you can see from Ohana Fest’s website as well as their social media accounts (except for a profile photo we found on Facebook here), there’s no trace of Ohana Encore anywhere, so that’s always a strong indicator of some unfortunate news. However, at least some fans will always have the 2021 installment to remember.

Are you ready to do it again, Ohana fam?

The three-day festival founded by Eddie Vedder is heading back to Doheny State Beach after hosting a two-weekend affair last year that featured a two-day “Encore” with Pearl Jam, but with the Hall of Fame rock band relaunching its postponed 2020 tour this spring and summer, it will be a different cast leading Ohana Fest’s sixth year as the calendar flips from September to October.

Stevie Nicks will kick things off on Friday with an impressive undercard of Khruangbin, Brittany Howard, The Revivalists, Gangs of Youth and St. Paul & The Broken Bones highlighting Day 1.

Meanwhile, Saturday’s main entrée of Vedder and Jack White, who put out Fear of the Dawn last week as the first of two new albums he will release this year, should have everyone rockin’ (in the free world) before the lights go out, but don’t sleep on Grammy-winning bluegrass guitarist Billy Strings listed right below the two co-headliners alongside Manchester Orchestra.

Closing things down on Sunday will be three-time Grammy winner P!nk, who will have plenty of support thanks to some highly anticipated performances from St. Vincent and Broken Social Scene that will see the latter play their 2002 album You Forgot It in People in its entirety. Other notable names on the 2022 bill include Kolohe Kai, Inhaler, Bomba Estéreo, Cautious Clay, Joy Oladokun and Kevin Morby. Check out the poster above for the rest of the artists scheduled to perform in Dana Point.

Tickets can be purchased starting this Wednesday, April 13th at 10 a.m. PT during the festival’s presale, but you must sign up here to receive a presale code if you want to join the party!

Ohana Festival adds ‘Encore’ weekend for 2021 with Pearl Jam, Beck, Brandi Carlile & more on the bill

Ohana Encore - 2021 lineup

Ohana Encore //
Doheny State Beach – Dana Point, CA
October 1st-2nd, 2021 //

Well, Ohana fam … if you thought this year’s event was shaping up to be something special, you’re in for a pleasant surprise.

The music festival founded by Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder in 2016 has already shared an updated roster for its fifth installment in September after postponing the festivities 12 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that’s actually only half of the fun now.

Yes, that’s right. Ohana Festival has announced a second event for 2021 that will take place the ensuing weekend and follow what’s sure to be an epic three days in Dana Point. And if you happen to be a Pearl Jam fan, then you’re in for a real treat.

Leading the way will be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band for two more days at Doheny State Beach, headlining a lineup that will also include Beck, Brandi Carlile (who is already slated to perform Sunday at Ohana Festival), Lord Huron, Sleater-Kinney, White Reaper, Margo Price, ZZ Ward, NHC (a supergroup featuring Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and bassist Chris Chaney as well as Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins), Pluralone (former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist Josh Klinghoffer’s project), Amythyst Kiah and a few more acts.

The “Encore” session, as you can see from the poster above, plans to once again lean heavily in the direction of rock ‘n’ roll but will still showcase flashes of indie folk, alt-country and even punk to round out an eclectic edition that boasts must-see sets by My Morning Jacket, Maggie Rogers, Sharon Van Etten, Durand Jones & The Indications, Mac Demarco, Wild Belle and Real Estate the week prior.

While three-day GA passes for Ohana Festival sold out months ago, weekend and single-day tickets for Ohana Encore will go on sale this Friday, July 23rd here for $275 and $138.50, respectively, plus fees. VIP, furthermore, can be purchased for $950 and $499.50 unless you’re willing to drop a small fortune of $7,000 for the Ultimate VIP+ Admission Pass. If you haven’t seen Pearl Jam before or you missed out on getting tickets to Ohana Festival, this is a great opportunity for fans of the Seattle grunge outfit to end their summers on a high note after spending most of 2020 at home.

Ohana Festival - 2021 lineup

Oh how we have missed you, live music! If the COVID-19 pandemic has taught us anything over the past 15 months, it’s that the concert experience should never be taken for granted.

But with U.S. vaccinations increasing and summer right around the corner, music festivals are preparing to make their return all over the country, including up and down California, which has the lowest COVID-19 infection rate in the country now.

So why not escape to Doheny State Beach for a long weekend this September where you can rock out to Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder and Kings of Leon at Ohana Festival?

The three-day event founded by Vedder five years ago had already announced a 2020 lineup just days before the festival circuit was quickly shut down and now it has updated that roster, swapping in Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile, indie-rock veterans Spoon, psych-soul duo Black Pumas, LA punk rockers The Regrettes, Long Beach’s very own Cold War Kids, Salt Lake City four-piece The Backseat Lovers and TikTok sensation Sky McCreery for originally announced acts like The Pretenders, Dermot Kennedy, EOB, Broken Social Scene, Gangs of Youth, Inhaler and Ethan Gruska.

As you can see from the poster above, Ohana Fest has delivered another largely rock-leaning bill after an excellent showing in 2019 headlined by The Strokes, Vedder and Red Hot Chili Peppers, but this year also boasts one of its strongest undercards with My Morning Jacket, Maggie Rogers, Sharon Van Etten, Durand Jones & The Indications, Mac Demarco, Wild Belle and Real Estate all worthy of catching down in Dana Point.

UPDATE (September 23rd): Just a little more than 24 hours before they were supposed to take the stage, Kings of Leon have canceled their headlining performance on Friday due to a family emergency. In their absence, My Morning Jacket will play an extended set and Vedder will close out the fest’s first day with an additional appearance.

Three-day GA and Sunday single-day tickets are already sold out, but single-day tickets for Friday and Saturday can still be purchased here for $138.50 plus fees. Don’t wait before it’s too late, Ohana fam!
